In October 2023, the German Federal Government published the National Strategy for Social Innovations and Social Enterprises. In doing so, it is taking on a pioneering role among the European member states and demonstrating that social innovation is a key concern at the highest political level. The strategy shows that social innovations are widely recognised in Germany as an independent form of innovation alongside technological innovations and is therefore an indicator of a changing innovation paradigm.
The strategy comprises with a wide and comprehensive approach measures in 11 fields of action that are intended to strengthen social innovation in Germany in a targeted manner. The strategy is now available in English:

An important measure of the strategy is the development of a platform for social innovations and social enterprises, which offers networks, events and information for the entire social innovation ecosystem in Germany as a one-stop shop.
