Matthias Weber is Head of Center for Innovation Systems and Policy at AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna. He has a background in Process Engineering and Political Sciences, as well as a PhD in Economics, all assigned by University of Stuttgart. His research has focused on socio-technical system transformations, on foresight for reflexive governance of innovation policy, and new types of research and innovation practices. He is also advising national governments, European institutions and international organisations on matters of research and innovation policy, and served on several European expert groups, most recently RISE (Research, Innovation and Science Policy Experts High-Level Group) and the High-Level Group on Innovation Policy Management. Matthias is also member of the executive committee of EU-SPRI (European Forum for Studies of Policies for Research and Innovation).
